Impact of Funding 2015/16

  • Summer 2016 – 59 Year 11 students were eligible for Pupil Premium (24% of Y11 students).
  • 34 of these students achieved 5 A*-C including English and Maths.  This equates to 58% of students (increase of 10% from 2015).
  • The Average Grade for these students was C- (Best 8 GCSEs capped).
  • The Average Points Score for these students was 38.00 (Best 8 GCSEs capped).
  • In English, 79.7% of Pupil Premium students made 3 Levels of Progress.  With Non-Pupil Premium in English, 88.1% made 3 Levels of Progress.  This equates to a gap of 8.4%.
  • In Maths, 55.9% of Pupil Premium students made 3 Levels of Progress.  With Non-Pupil Premium students in Maths, 71.9% made 3 Levels of Progress.  This equates to a gap of 16%.
  • The average Total Points Score for Pupil Premium students was 356.47.  This compares to a National Total Points Score for Pupil Premium of 295.1.  (RAISEonline April 2016).
  • Gaps do remain between Pupil Premium and Non-Pupil Premium students, but they are closing.  The 5 A*-C with English and Maths gap is now 16.7% (compared to 29% in 2015 and 37% in 2014).  The average grade for Non-Pupil Premium students is C+; for Pupil Premium students it is C-.  The Attainment 8 score for Pupil Premium students is 4.66, compared to the National Attainment 8 score for 2016 of 4.1. The Attainment 8 score for Non-Pupil Premium students is 5.52.
  • With Progress 8 scores, the score for 2016 Pupil Premium students is  -0.29; this compares to a National Progress 8 score of -0.39.
