Q: What is the SIMS Parent App?

A: The SIMS Parent App is an application that allows you to monitor your child’s progress in school more closely than ever before. You will have access to your child’s attendance and behaviour records and interim reports. Click here for more details.

Q: How do I get an account?

A: You will need an invitation code which will allow you to enrol with a new account and link your child to it. Please contact the school’s ICT Support department remotelearning@flhs.wigan.sch.uk to request an invitation code. To help assist with this matter please ensure that you mention your child’s name and form group.

You will also need one of the following:

  • Microsoft or Google account
  • FaceBook or Twitter social media account
  • An Office 365 account

We strongly advise that you do not use a work e-mail account to enrol. 

Q: Is this invitation code similar to Show My Homework where I can share this with another person to invite them to create a SIMS parent account?

A: No. This code cannot be shared with multiple people. It is solely for single use, linked to yourself and it expires once it has been used. If you require another SIMS Parent account please contact the school’s ICT Support department remotelearning@flhs.wigan.sch.uk . To help assist with this matter please ensure that you mention your child’s name and form group.

Q: I have been sent an invitation code but it doesn’t work. When I try to use it, it says it has expired.

A: Unfortunately once generated invitation codes are only valid for 90 days. This is a time that has been determined by the software developer who makes the application. If you need a new invitation code please contact the school’s ICT Support department remotelearning@flhs.wigan.sch.uk . To help assist with this matter please ensure that you mention your child’s name and form group.

Q: I have never been sent an Invitation Code. How do I get one?

A: If you haven’t received an invite to use the SIMS App, use this address to apply simsappregistration@flhs.wigan.sch.uk . You could also (if you have access to a computer with a printer and scanner) download the following form by clicking here, print out the form, fill the details in, scan it on your computer and e-mail it back to the e-mail address above to speed up the process.

Q: I have requested an Invitation Code and apparently it has been sent but I have not received it.

A: Please allow 24 hours from the point of the code having been generated and also please check the Junk / Spam folders on your e-mail as sometimes Parent App Invitation Codes mistakenly get flagged as Junk/Spam mail by some e-mail provider services. If after 24 hours you have still not received an e-mail contact the school’s ICT Support department remotelearning@flhs.wigan.sch.uk . To help assist with this matter please ensure that you mention your child’s name and form group.

Q: I’ve been sent an invitation code to enrol for an account. What next?

Q: How do I log in to the SIMS Parent App?

A: You can log in and use the SIMS Parent App via two methods:

  1. On a Computer
  2. On a mobile device (i.e. a Tablet or Smartphone)

Please refer to the information below for the applicable method that you wish to access your account with.

From a Computer:

Visit the following website https://www.sims-parent.co.uk/ and choose the sign in method that you used to create your account with and enter your username and password.

From a mobile device (see below for the applicable solution dependent the device you are using):

iOS

If you are using an iPad or iPhone, visit the following link SIMS Parent App for iOS which will take you directly to the App store to download the free App to your device.

Once installed and opened you will be immediately asked if you have already created an account. If you already have an account click Yes to proceed to the next step, if you haven’t click here to learn how to make an account .

Next, choose the sign in method that you used to create your account with and enter your username and password.

Android

If you are using an Android tablet or phone, visit the following link SIMS Parent App for Android which will take you directly to the App store to download the free App to your device.

Next, choose the sign in method that you used to create your account with and enter your username and password.

Q: I have more than one child at this school. How do I link this account to additional children?

A: Students reigstered in SIMS will be automatically linked to other family members (siblings). If for some reason your other children are not linked to your account please contact our school’s ICT Support department remotelearning@flhs.wigan.sch.uk who will be able assist you with this issue. To help assist with this matter please ensure that you mention your child’s name and form group.

Q: I have forgotten the login details for my SIMS parent account.

A: Your SIMS parent account is one of the following:

  • Your Google or Microsoft account
  • Your FaceBook or Twitter social media account
  • Your Office 365 account

Unfortunately as a school we cannot assist you with resetting these passwords. To reset the passwords to any of these accounts you will need to contact the support groups of these account providers.

Q: I no longer have access to the account that I used to create for my SIMS parent account.

A: Please contact the school’s ICT Support department remotelearning@flhs.wigan.sch.uk who will be able assist you with this issue. To help assist with this matter please ensure that you mention your child’s name and form group.
