WELCOME

WELCOME

The Expressive Arts Faculty prides itself on the creative opportunities that we offer to our students. As well as developing the talent and skills within each of our subject areas, we also encourage students to immerse themselves fully in their chosen artforms and develop a passion, appreciation and understanding that goes way beyond their time at school. Studying our subjects at Key Stage 4 gives students the chance to do just that – to study styles, movements, and artists in greater depth and in doing so, enabling our students to become lifelong creators and artists themselves. Opting for one or more of our subjects at Key Stage 4 is a brilliant way to enjoy a rounded and balanced curriculum where students can develop not just as artists, but as collaborators, creative thinkers, problem solvers and confident orators.

Art & Design

The GCSE Art & Design curriculum offers three separate specification choices allowing you to focus on your preferred way of working in Art.
Art, Craft & Design, the general Art & Design course that lets you explore a wide range of processes, Photography, a mainly digital course that helps you to explore creativity with a camera and Graphic Communication, the chance to explore graphic design, illustration, and animation from a professional angle.
Information about all three choices is in the video and questions can be directed to your Art & Design teacher.

Dance

If you love performing and want to learn how to choreograph your own work then our KS4 Dance courses are for you. They combine practical lessons where you will develop your dance technique in a range of styles with the theory behind the practise. You will also study a selection of professional works and learn to analyse your own progress along the way. Don’t hesitate to pay us a visit if you have any questions!
