Arts Technician

Salary: Grade 4, scale points 5-8 (£23,500 – £24,702) Actual pro rata salary £20,055 – £21,081 pay award pending
Hours: 37 hours per week – Term Time plus 2 weeks
Start date: Required for June 2024

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Arts Technician to join our thriving Arts Faculty. We want someone who will fully support our staff in their innovative approaches to learning and who is keen to engage with our students. The role involves working across the subjects of Art, Dance, Drama and Music.

Fred Longworth High School is committed to going against the trend of the declining provision of arts in schools. We believe that the arts form a crucial part of education for young people and we see the evidence each day of how subjects like art, dance, drama and music help children to achieve in all aspects of their lives. We are passionate advocates for the arts and even made a short film, funded by the Arts Council, about the importance of the arts in secondary schools, which can be seen on YouTube.

We are well known for the very high standard of our dance, drama and music productions along with our excellent art exhibitions. Our work is often supported and enhanced by partnerships with professional venues and arts organisations through which we are able to provide some exceptional opportunities for our students. This has included, for example, performances at Royal Albert Hall, The Lowry and the Royal Exchange Theatre. The Arts Technician role is crucial in helping us to develop and maintain these partnerships in order to provide the very best creative education for our students along with excellent provision outside of the classroom.

Our facilities across the faculty are excellent include an art maker space, darkroom, well equipped theatre, music production suites and dance studio. Internal Exclusion Manager

Salary: Grade 5, scale points 7-14 (£24,294 – £27,334) Actual pro rata salary £20,913 – £23,530 (pay award pending)
Hours: 37 hours per week – Term Time only (we are willing to consider part-time or job share)
Start date: Required for June 2024
 

We have an opportunity to appoint a confident, caring and enthusiastic person to be our Internal Exclusion Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Internal Exclusion room, ensuring that students are effectively supervised, that high standards of behaviour are maintained and work closely with our experienced and dedicated Pastoral Team.

Temporary Teacher of Mathematics (Maternity Cover)

Salary: MPS/UPS
Start date: Required for September 2024 – December 2024
 

We wish to appoint a full-time teacher of Maths to join our successful, highly supportive and innovative Maths Department. We will also consider applicants seeking part-time.

The successful applicant will be joining the school at an exciting and significant time. In July 2021 the Maths department moved into a brandnew state of the art block which is part of the wider development of the whole school. In October 2023, the school relocated into a brand-new state of the art building.

Cover Supervisor

Salary: Grade 4, scale points 5-8 (£23,500 – £24,702) – pay award pending – (Actual pro rata salary approx. £19,658 – £20,664)
Hours: 37 hours per week – term time only

Start date: Required as soon as possible

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join our team in providing classroom supervision of students in the short-term absence of a teacher. The successful candidate will need to have experience of working with or caring for children and must have good Numeracy and Literacy skills.

Teacher of English

Apprentice Teachers (x2) - Languages & Science

Salary: Unqualified Teachers PayScale (£20,958 to £27,406) + automatic enrolment into Kingsbridge EIP SCITT well-being Plan throughout the duration of training
Study Level: Postgraduate – School Led
Start date: Asap with training to begin in June/July 2023
Contract Type: This vacancy is initially for a minimum fixed contract of twelve months and on completion of the apprenticeship training leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Working Pattern: 1,265 hours over 195 days of the year in line with the Statutory Teacher Pay and Conditions Document
Training: You’ll receive a combination of classroom teaching and off-the-job training as you work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
