Introduction
The personal development curriculum at FLHS is delivered through lessons specific to year groups every fortnight. There are three lessons a half term and these are interleaved throughout Year 7 to Year 11 to revisit key areas of development.
The Personal Development Curriculum delivers aspects of PSHE, RSE, SMSC and British Values. The purpose of the Personal Development curriculum is to develop responsible, respectful, and active citizens.
The school promotes through lessons, equality of opportunity and inclusivity irrespective age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. Lessons enable students to recognise online and offline risks to their wellbeing – for example, risks from criminal and sexual exploitation, domestic abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, substance misuse, gang activity, radicalisation, and extremism – and making them aware of the support available to them.
