Is it excellent yet? This question which sits above every teaching wall in every classroom. It is there to remind every student of our expectations and that excellence is possible for all if we demonstrate the resilience and determination to succeed.

BEST tickets for excellent contribution to the lesson are given out in every classroom, every day.

Fortnightly Freddie’s Focus on the Stars in which five students from every year group and each subject area are recognised and awarded for excellence. This also includes our prestigious Headteachers’s Award.

Our weekly newsletter Freddie’s Focus for Parents and Carers celebrates the excellence that has taken place in school that week alongside sporting successes.

Our social media channels (Facebook, X, Instagram) are used to share extensively the achievement of our students and the many activities that they engage with both inside and outside of school. 

BEST Awards are awarded once per term to four students in each Form who have demonstrated one or more of our FLHS character values.
