As your child continues their journey through Year 11, we want to do all we can to support you in helping them to complete effective and vital revision at home. We are pleased to invite you to our Year 11 Preparing for Examinations event which begins at 6pm and is open to all year 11 students and their parents/carers, offering 30-minute sessions across the core subject areas. Led by specialist teachers from English, Mathematics and Science, subject-specific revision strategies will be shared and modelled. You will be guided through the exam specifications and given expert advice on how to support your child in the run-up to their mock exams, and in the months leading to their examinations.
Here is a brief outline of the sessions available:
Revising for English Literature
A session designed to review the English Literature set texts and how to revise effectively.
Revising for Maths – Foundation Tier
A session designed to review the curriculum for the foundation tier with strategies for how to revise effectively and secure that all-important Grade 5.
Revising for Maths – Higher Tier
A session for students sitting the higher tier paper in Maths, with review of the curriculum and methods to revise effectively.
Revising for Science
A session designed to help you prioritise key areas of your examinations with advice on the most effective revision strategies.
Also available on the evening will be your child’s Head of Year, members of our Inclusion team and other Y11 key staff to answer any questions you may have.
To help us accommodate all guests, we ask you to complete the slip attached below and return this to your child’s form teacher by Monday 31st October 2022. We very much hope you can join us for this important event, and we look forward to seeing you.
