We’re incredibly proud to share that Fred Longworth High School has been awarded the prestigious Platinum Artsmark Award – the highest level of recognition from Artsmark and Arts Council England.
“This award recognises the tremendous contribution the Arts make to our school and wider community.” said Headteacher Paul Davies, “To receive this is a huge accolade to the dedication of our staff.”
The Platinum Artsmark Award recognises the hard work, commitment and vision of schools that place arts and culture at the heart of education. It celebrates the dedication of staff who continue to develop and champion our arts provision, ensuring that all students have access to high-quality creative experiences throughout their time with us.
The school’s Head of Expressive Arts David Moloney, echoing these sentiments, said “To be awarded Platinum is no easy feat, and we are immensely proud that the work we do, both staff and students, has been recognised by Artsmark”.
“Countless students who have passed through the halls of Fred Longworth have benefitted immensely from the Arts” Paul Davies continued “and to have this recognition is wonderful”.
We are also incredibly proud of our students, whose enthusiasm, participation and creativity help make our arts programmes such a success. Their passion for the arts, alongside the commitment of our staff, has played a key role in achieving this prestigious award.
“This award supports the school’s ethos that access to quality Arts provision should be a right for young people, and not a privilege. We will continue to be advocates for this both in school and beyond”.
