Freddie's Focus

For Parents & Carers

Things to celebrate

  • This week our Y7 to 10 students have completed their self-evaluation. This has been an excellent opportunity to reflect upon strengths, areas for development and set targets that will help our students to move forward. Please ask your child to talk to you about their target areas and how they intend to make improvements.

  • Our Y11 students have worked on preparing revision timetables to support them with their half-term study plans.

  • A number of our students have received BEST Awards from their Form Tutors. These awards are given to four students in each Form who have demonstrated one or more of our FLHS character values (see below for more details). A huge well done to all of our winners!

Homework and Self-directed study

Here at Freddie’s, we focus on six types of homework to help our students broaden, consolidate and extend their learning. Please see our website for our homework policy which outlines these six strategies – see link provided below.

You can keep track of your child’s homework using Satchel:One.

Homework Club

Please remind your child that homework club is available to all students Monday-Thursday.

Personal Development

This term we are focusing on developing our students’ character as part of our overall work on Personal Development. These are the key aspects of character that we want to work on and they are closely linked to our BEST values – which hopefully all our students know about by now!

In each FF for parents and guardians these areas will be explored in more depth. Assemblies and lessons will take place in the future to develop these areas further.
