Things to celebrate
- This week, we hosted Freddie’s Open Evening. It was wonderful to see so many of our students volunteering to take part, guiding the hundreds of visitors around the school
- The first meeting for our school musical ‘Grease’ took place on Wednesday night. We would like to encourage as many of our students as possible to get involved in this exciting opportunity
- The Freddie’s sign language club began on Wednesday night, led by one of our Y9 students. We are incredibly proud of any student who takes the initiative to lead their own club and equally as thrilled to see so many students attending

Homework and Self-directed study
To support all of our students with homework and organisation of self-directed study, we would like them to ask themselves the following questions:
- What homework do I have this week? What’s in my Satchel?! And IF I haven’t got any, what can I do?
- When will I focus on each piece of homework?
- How will I complete it to the best of my ability and how do I need to submit it? (hand in or online submission?)
We encourage all of our parents and carers to also ask these questions at home
Satchel One
You can keep track of your child’s homework using Satchel:One.
Homework Club
Please remind your child that homework club is available to all students Monday-Thursday in the Library (apart from Monday week B) where support and IT equipment is is available.
Personal Development
The next character trait that we will be focusing on is Confidence. If students are confident, they are likely to be motivated, perform well, form good relationships and they will believe in themselves. A confident student is more likely to succeed than one who lacks confidence. Key information on ‘being confident’ is included below.

Message from the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Carers,
On Thursday 22nd September, we welcomed over 500 prospective parents and students into the school for our Open Evening. The event was a huge success and showcased the very best of our school. What particularly struck me was the positivity and energy shown by the many students who supported the event. We had over 200 students representing the school – either working with their teachers in the faculty areas, or by guiding parents around the school. They were all fantastic! Throughout the evening, many, many parents commented on the enthusiasm and politeness of the students who were real ambassadors for our school and its BEST Values. Well done to all involved.
Regards,
Mr Davies.
